A Baseball Short Story

So, I had this idea to write a handful of short stories, all set in South Louisiana, of course. The reasons are pretty straight forward.

One is, I have so many different ideas for scenarios and characters that I need a way to easily clear them through the literary docket of my mind. Otherwise, they’ll just linger there (I’m having a Deja vu moment–did I talk about this last week?)

The other is I think short fiction, especially stories in audio format, are perhaps easier for new readers to consume. Less of a commitment.

The last is because of publishing. It’s hard to get a novel published (unless you own your own imprint, like I do), but short stories are different. There are lots of online journals.

So with all that in mind, I’m working on my first short story. A rough draft of which I want to share now. It’s about baseball. But, since it’s one of my stories, there’s also a smattering of sex, drugs, and rock and roll (hey, I never said I was deep). Anyway, check it out. I’d love to know what you think. Please post a comment.
